SANDDOLLAR RAISES $15,000 FOR INJURED FIREMAN

The Sand Dollar raised over $15,000 at the recent benefit for injured fireman Michael Benneman. Mike, who is a captain for the Las Vegas Fire Dept. was seriously injured when a semi truck crossed over a two lane road and collided head on into Mike's mini van. He was travelling with his family at the time. Thanks to all of those volunteers from the Las Vegas Fire Dept. who assisted in making this benefit a huge success and to all of the Musicians, Friends and Blues fans who donated their time, money and effort. Las Vegas has always been a caring and benevolent community and we are proud to be a part of it! Thanks to Shirley Williams and the entire staff of the Sand Dollar Blues Lounge and the Las Vegas Blues Society for their Love! Thanks also to Steve Westmoreland and Pat McKnight. God Bless you all!

Chris Tofield in June Issue of Guitar Player Magazine

Guitarist Chris Tofield received an article in the June issue of Guitar Player Magazine. Chris, as you probably already know, is a very talented singer/songwriter/guitarist and beyond a doubt one of the best musicians to ever grace the stage at The Sand Dollar Blues Room! Our congratulations go out to Chris on this prestigious article and best wishes on his upcoming tour of Tennessee, Georgia, Connecticut & Eastern Europe! Be careful out there Chris and keep on playing them Bad Ass Tofield Blues !!! :) PS. While Chris is out of town Al Ek will be handling the M.C. and Band Leader duties for both Sunday and Monday night's Open Jams.

AOL PICKS SAND DOLLAR AS ONE OF THE BEST BARS IN THE COUNTRY!

It's an awesome honor!! AOL recently chose the Sand Dollar Blues one of the BEST BARS in the country! Only 12 were chosen, and the Sand Dollar was near the top of the prestigious list, which included New York's Hogs and Heifers and Daytona Beach's famous Boot Hill Saloon. "The Legend Has Returned" AOL declared, showing its admiration for our nightly live music and great customers! :)

Cancer Benefit Raises over $3,000!!!

We want to thank everyone who attended, played, volunteered and donated their time, talent, treasures, cash and most of all LOVE to the fund-raiser for our sister Diana Compian this past weekend at The Sand Dollar Blues Room!!! You are 'THE BEST' and never cease to amaze! It was a great success thanks to all of you and you raised over $3,000 to help Diana with her living expenses ... it will help her a lot along with your prayers!!!
